Hey, I’m Madison.
Words and I go way back.
I’m an editor, project manager, and storyteller.
Creating content is a bit like making pottery.
First, you throw the pot (write the content).
Then, you trim the pot (edit the content).
Then, you glaze the pot (create the design).
Finally, you fire the pot to finish it (hit publish).
It can get messy!
But there’s a method to the madness.
Each step has a process that requires skill and technique.
Knowing when to stop is the hard part. Throw too long or trim too much away, and the vessel loses its intended shape.
Human-driven
When it comes to editing, I rely solely on the client’s style guide and my experience as an editor.
I believe the final draft requires a human touch if you want to speak to and engage with your audience.
Here’s my technique:
Iterative and empathetic
My editing process can flex to your needs but is, at its core, simple, repeatable, and respectful.
Red-lining shouldn’t create conflict. I aim to honor the work while looking for ways to make the final copy shine.

My editing philosophy
Provide actionable feedback.
Communicate clearly, succinctly.
Include the “why.”
Be specific and include examples.
Make suggestions – not orders.
Organize edits by importance.
Highlight the positives!
